i must stress that the original film-maker had made the movie as a political statement...it was all about politics...and from the 'big picture'...the GRASSE/GROS perspective of what was going on in SPAIN and from the very beginning of its history...the film-maker figured that CATHOLICISM was the only thing that could save SPAIN from satanism, in all of its different disguises...his main discovery was that SATANISM would try to drive Spanish culture back to PAGANISM and in any way that it could...using socialism...atheism...whatever would led Spanish culture back to paganism which is so very close to SATANISM...and only a step away then, from the jaws of the very devil, so to speak...

I wonder how far his vision was correct...I know almost nothing about modern Spanish culture...he appeared to figure that unless the message of his film was revealed...and unless what OFELIA had found out, was researched...then he had very little hope for a non-satanic SPAIN in the future...
