This piece of armor is a four-inches-to-five-inches-width belt. It was the first piece that the ancient Roman soldier put-on. The belt was to strengthen the soldier’s body, so that he could take-up the other pieces of armor. Otherwise, the soldier’s body would slouch under the heavy collective weight. The belt was tighten during a battle, so that the soldier could readily put-on the rest of the armor. This same principle can be seen on T.V i.e. the Weightlifting Championships. A weightlifter waits for his turn. When his call comes, he will begin to prepare himself for it. He tightens his belt, rubs his hands with powder, psyche himself up. Did you notice the belt? It is big! Did you notice the manner the weightlifter tightened the belt? The strategy of Satan to make us ineffective for Christ in this world, by first, keeping us ignorant of the truth. Our doctrine is the truth of Christ. It is not merely having the volume of knowledge of the doctrine of Christ in our heads that determines our strength in the truth. It is actually the practicing of the doctrine, which makes us strong. The right doctrine not practiced is `a paper tiger’. A doctrine not practiced is useless against the onslaught of the enemy. In other words, we are to practice the truth of Christ in our everyday lives. It is the practicing of the doctrine of Christ in our everyday lives that counts. It is our life that touches humanity. We must know and be firm in the truth of our purpose in this world, positioning ourselves in the truth. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6) Since Jesus is the truth, we have to know Jesus by reading the accounts of His life, words and works. The Gospel books form the basis. They are our point of reference. Without knowing the truth of Jesus, we will be weak in our spiritual position, therefore, unable to stand our spiritual ground. This knowledge of the truth of Christ is not the collection of data, the accummulation of information or the increase of our knowledge bank. This knowledge of the truth of Christ comes by revelation through the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Put on the light of the revelation of Christ. This is what being "in Christ" means.

Somebody asked: “have you wondered why God didn’t just take us up to heaven when we became believers – so as to save us from the difficulties and problems of this world?” God could have done it easily. But why did God left us here? It is, because, we are witnesses. We are saved because someone was willing to share the good news of Jesus Christ to us. The Roman army was an invading force of the Roman empire. We are the spiritual army of the Lord invading the spiritual darkness with the light of Christ. We are to penetrate and take over the spiritual stronghold of the enemy over the minds of people. Light And Darkness: Knowledge And Ignorance Waist With Truth: Put On The Knowledge Of Christ To understand what this `truth’ means, we have to understand one underlying principle. The book of Ephesians is a letter written in one breath with a unified message from God through Paul to the saints in Ephesus. The whole context of the whole book is in harmony. So, to understand what was referred to, by the word`truth’ as in the `waist with truth’, we have to go backwards and pick-up from an earlier part of the book. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13) The term `the word of truth’ which was used here was referring to the truth of the gospel. This means that it is imperative that we read the Gospel books i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John of the Bible. How can we share to others about the truth of the gospel without having lived the truth? How can we live the truth of the gospel without knowing it? And how can we know it without reading it?

Snakes have a venomous bite which they use to kill their prey before eating it. Some other snakes kill their prey by constriction. Venoms Satan disguised and hidden within the serpent in the Garden of Eden, gave a venomous thought. It started a downward spiraling thought process in humanity. Venom is modified saliva. Its primary function is to capture/kill the prey and then it also helps to digest the prey. Snake venom is made up of about 20 different enzymes. Species usually have 6-12 of these enzymes. Satan’s spiritual venoms contain an assortment of deception. These enzymes determine the toxicity of the snake and whether it is hemotoxic or neurotoxic. Venoms referred to as hematoxic means that they primarily affect the blood. A hematoxic venom destroys tissue and is very painful. The Bible says that life is in the blood (Genesis 9:4). This hematoxic type of spiritual venoms adversely affects our spiritual life. These are words that hurt us, offend us, discourage us, dishearten us and demoralize us. There are sarcastic and derogatory remarks made directly to us. These include gossip, back biting and character assassination. Satan uses demonic thoughts directly speaking to our mind, and he uses people. Some people rejected God over one bad remark or one bad incident. Many couldn’t overcome their hurt and bitterness. They are overwhelmed by the pain. They are caught by the process. The issue is so big to them, so much so, that their thoughts are overcrowded and overshadowed. Neurotoxic venoms attack the nervous system and brain. These may cause almost no pain, but shut down the respiratory systems and interfere with heart functions. Good examples of these types of snakes are the cobra and coral snakes. This neurotoxic type of spiritual venoms are deceptive doctrines, philosophies, thoughts which lead us away from God; and defective understanding which leads us to a counterfeit, ineffective, powerless Christian living. Satan plants defective knowledge for our future malfunction and breakdown. It is a spiritual computer virus that last for ages. It is no wonder that the serpent is described as the most cunning species. It is a portrayal of Satan himself (Genesis 3:1). Satan causes ignorance, arrogance, fear, worry and confusion. His goal is to keep us where he wants us to be; and deflect, divert, distract us from where we should be. He is deceptive to the point that people do not know that they are being deceived. He imitates their own voice, and he put them in their heads. People think that these are their own thoughts, and accept them. His deceives people into accepting, and settling down, on their defective beliefs and lives.
