So I reckon that what I am touching upon in the post below is the fact that as children we had all been made to identify as 'severed heads' in a way...and MARTINE had gone one further and put up her surreal programming in an abstract way...she had taken the cue from HENRY's severed head which had been more like a CHINESE warrior mask and so was a bit of an abstract piece in terms of simplification but not that much...more to the point, I had done the design without thinking...I hadn't studied any books upon the art...it just felt 'right' to me.
