The other 'cuckoos'...and the 'regiment' had all been given a chance to 'buy back their own children'....were quite obviously not their own children...as SONIA sensed...she knew that they weren't her own but her maternal side wanted to believe it and so she signed up to the system...part of her salary went to pay for these children...their general welfare and education. You were right SONIA - they weren't your genetic children and if I were you - perhaps it would be better to see the whole thing as simply a 'good deed' - rather like a 'SPONSOR A CHILD' charity.
