The latest bullshit from NPOWER:
Dear Miss Gyde,
The electricity charges of £131.17 on your bill dated 30 July 2010 are correct as the bill shows the 913 units of electricity used from 18 September 2009 (read 15) to 15 July 2010 (read 928). I appreciate that the reading 15 is shown as being taken on 28 January 2010 instead of 18 September 2010 but this will make no difference to the charges of £131.17 for the 10 month period it relates to as 600 units are shown to be charges at the higher rate 14.29 pence per unit. As we charge 2 units per day on the higher rate then 600 units for the 300 day period from 18 September 2009 to 15 July 2010 is correct.
Your previous electricity bill dated 24 May 2010 showed a balance of £61.74 relating to estimated charges to 4 May 2010, however payment for this amount was received and allocated to your account on 28 May 2010. Therefore, the current balance of £26.21 in theory equates to charges from 4 May 2010 (estimated reading 753) to 15 July 2010 (reading 928) and you have been charged the same tariff from 15 September 2010 as requested.
Mrs Naughton-Steele calculation was correct as the entire charges from 15 September 2009 to 15 July 2010 do equate to £131.17. As we have received from you total payments of £104.21,the outstanding balance is £26.21.
Your average electricity usage is shown to 3 units per day or £3.02 per week, however although this is very low usage as your fridge would use 1 - 1.5 units per day, should you contact our Energy Efficiency Team on 0800 022220 then they will be able to discuss ways of saving energy. We cannot charge you £1.00 per week as the energy used by your fridge alone would equate to approximately £1.58 per week.
As npower and National Grid (your gas meter owned by them) records show that meter G4A02336990701 is the only gas meter at your home. If this is not the case, then I would appreciate if you could kindly contact me directly on 0845 0730861 with the serial number of the other gas meter and we will investigate this as we are only billing you now for charges on one meter (majority of properties only have one meter).
The reason why you were charged on two different tariffs as that we had a price change (decrease) on 25 March 2010 and this is shown as a price change 'pc' on your latest bill. The balance of £124.96 is correct as charges from 14 September 2009 to 20 July 2010 are £470.13 and we have received £345.17 in total payments during that period.
I trust that this information will allow you to arrange payment of the outstanding balance in the next 15 days. I will hold your account until 1 September 2010 which will stop any reminder letters being issued whilst we await your payments. However, if you have any further concerns, I would appreciate if you could contact me directly on 0845 0730861 as this will eradicate the need for multiple emails to be sent.
Kind regards,
David Riseborough
