Although in my own opinion - I never understood the title GOTH...GOTHS meant to me - anything but the youth movement and dress of the time...which my YOUNGEST BROTHER ED became a part of of....the 'living dead'...SOUXIE AND THE BANSHEES were the forerunners of it...then their drummer went on to form THE CURE...

...but formerly...prior to those youth movements...GOTH meant to me...something similar to HUNS/VIKINGS...those in helmets with BULL'S HORNS...and red beards - going berserk after having drunk FERMENTED 'lsd/mushrooms' BEER and going demented (rather like SIR DIGBY)...so it is a bit of a weird misnomer in a way...

Although - the word GOTHIC conjures up FINE ART in relation to the ROMANTIC period...

So all one can say is this:

An historic GOTH and the GOTHIC style, in history - are two very distinct things.
