The cage next to GILL's...upon the left...somebody had thrown BLACK EARTH at it...why?

Anyway, I went to M&S to stand in line...to realise that somebody had thrown BLACK EARTH upon the floor...and an assistant came up behind me with a brush and dustpan...an industrial one to clear it up...so I moved to another queue instead, to let her get on with it...what was that all about?

BLACK EARTH symbolism...teh TALMUDDY?
