In a new and bizarre turn of events...NPOWER is now claiming that my combined bill is only £463.98...naturally I will have to get confirmation in writing that once I have paid that - we are 'quits' and no further backdated bills will be sent to me...but I can see that we are 'nearly there' as it were...

Even though it is still not right because why did NPOWER send me TWO BILLS - one which states £448.82 and one which states £463.98 for precisely THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME?

Dear Miss Gyde

Further to your e-mail detailed below, I would like to apologise to you for the delay in my response.

As requested, please find attached a detailed breakdown of both your gas and electricity accounts. This includes all the statements that have been completed along with the meter readings used in the production of your account. In addition to this, I have detailed all of the payments and cash transfers that have been allocated to your account throughout your supply with npower to present date. I am aware that you have previously been provided alternative explanations to justify the accuracy of your account and this will therefore be the last breakdown that will be sent to you. If you remain unhappy with the explanations given then I would suggest that you contact the Energy Ombudsman to pursue your complaint further, as you have now exhausted npower's complaints process resulting in the letter received from Elizabeth Gibson detailing our final position.

Due to the fact that your account balance is accurate and due for payment we will not be suspending recovery of the present outstanding balances of £370.25 for your gas and £93.73 for electricity. In order to prevent you from being subjected to correspondence requesting payment of your combined balance of £463.98, I would recommend that full payment is made in the soonest time possible. Should you not be able to afford to pay your balance in full then please feel free to call me to discuss the payment options available to you.

Kind regards

Robert Hopkins
