My mother just rang to say that she is exhausted after looking after ED's family....her POLIO whatever is getting worse...she doesn't want to take steriods...her brother's partner got over it without steriods within 18 months...her good friend who had taken steroids, had it for three years....anyway, my mother will be going to a self-help group in NEEDHAM MARKET to see what advice they can give...

I suggested also a 'distraction exercise'...because GRANDPA CLAYTON had had a similar time...and he brought a hyperactive poodle in order to keep up the exericse...I suggested to my mother a far less 'needy dog' such as a BLACK AND TAN DACHSHUND because they are similar to BASSETHOUNDS which she loved...but they can't walk far...and a dog would be a 'distraction' - when you are in pain that won't go away...a distraction is always a boon...

...and then I look up MR 'DISTRACTION' DACHSHUND himself...in Jerusalem with the rest of them...doing mad monk stuff...along with a reference to ELIJAH the prophet (oh, oh - I have a feeling that was supposed to be MARK R)....and a UFO...
