What was the ROBINET all about?

I can remember now and it goes like this:

I got back to the CIA LAB and refused to tell anybody where I had been...the next day RIMINGTON appeared and told me that I had to go back to the UK with her...so we departed hastily....GILL was still very curious as to what was going on...all I had told him was that it was done, we were all safe and well...no harm done...he then found out that MARK R hadn't turned up, back from his trip, the next day...instead RIMINGTON had turned up...and he began to wonder...

GILL caught up with us in the 'special lounge' of the airport...he had bought a large bouquet of flowers for me...and so we embraced...RIMINGTON turned away muttering angrily, to the bar and ordered an aperitif which went by the name of ROBINET....we both sat on either side of her...and put our arms around her...and told her that even though we had bonded and loved each other so much...we still loved all of those around us...she was part of our circle and not to feel left out...RIMINGTON complained of feeling lonely...and I then looked at the tiny glass in front of her and asked her what it was....she told us and then said that she always bought it before...(going on a journey)...so we realised that it was some sort of programming device and associated with travelling.
