Bananas
That summer we spent a day together,
do you remember?
I had dressed myself
with taste and panache
I thought.

All in yellow you greeted me with;
"You look like a banana!"
I'll never forget...


...yes, that is what happened...when I bought a 'cable cotton' BRIGHT YELLOW jumper from M&S - and GILL responded "you look like a banana"...I was a teenager at the time or a bit older...anyway, he wouldn't retract the observation.
