The 'GOURDIN' - now as far as I can remember...my mother had learnt that in the Franche Comte- that they used this word to describe a WALKING STICK...it was commonly used...and 'CAROLE' is now talking about GOURDIN as in a CLUB...so is there a reference here to child abuse with walking sticks?
