maroon...how would you describe it as a colour?

I know that it was highly significant as a colour though...TODDY used it to program with during my childhood in relation to:

SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON
ROBINSON CRUSOE

...my Swiss family as MAROONED on a desert ISLAND...you get the picture?
