i can also remember GILLIAM telling me that in order to defeat the ill whilst being hanged...and you were hanged until you were dead and then had to have your heart started again, so many times...RIMINGTON knew the precise number of times that the ill could do it before they lost slaves...a general figure...before the neck couldn't stand it anymore...GILLIAM told me that in order to ensure your survival, the rebel group used to learn how to put a metal pipe down their windpipe so that it couldn't be broken...and you can see this technique in the film...

See previous notes upon the HANGMAN'S FLAT - EAGLE HOUSE, WEST STREET - HARWICH...although the ill did it all over the place...

...for example that farm in the middle of nowhere between JAYWICK and CLACTON - a large smuggling den in 1980 - the BI course were all hanged in a large hanger there...hoisted up about 40 feet - horrific - up to the beams and then down again - by your neck...I can remember watching TOMLINSON coming out and saying to the other graduates that they had only 'lost a couple'...yes, it all depended upon the degree of 'technique' of the hangman...how experienced he/she was...as to whether a slave's neck was broken or not...

...they constructed a special room with a hangman's gallows in it, upon a wooden platform...at that TEMPLAR CASTLE in the South of France...
