Last night...I awoke with a slight scream...because of a virulent BUZZING in my ear...a MOSQUITO...I switched on the light, checked around...then went back to sleep nearly...and the little insect went straight into my other ear and BUZZED...I really hate that...I suppose the warmth of the ear-hole attracts them...so this time I got up, did a thorough search...eventually found it on the ceiling...and squashed it.

symbolic of something I suppose...the odd thing is that even though it sounded just like a MOSQUITO...it didn't have the usual 'length of legs' and it had a larger gold coloured body...

I wonder where it came from? I have only had to squash one other similar insect, the whole time that I have been in this flat...and I had squashed that on the bedroom window...

I hope that 'snake basket' in the corner hasn't got 'eggs' in it...and the little buggers are hatching from it...but only two so far, not a problem...

It all reminded me of how I hadn't got bitten once in SHANGHAI...because of that brilliant homeopathic mix of herbs (it smells mainly of lemon in an alcohol base) which you dab on a bit...and it really keeps the mozzies off...but the 'ill powers that be' have banned it for sale in the WEST because BIG PHARM wants to make a killing with their 'expensive products which don't work'...

...and then I remembered HOTELU ASYSTENCKI by that 'still body of water'....two stagnant lakes...and how the mosquitos were everywhere in the summer...I can remember telling SONIA one morning that I had had to kill 7 or more, the night before...so that I could get some sleep...it was a major problem...as were those sightless MAY BUGS...a seasonal plague of them too, flying straight into your face...horrible...
