I have no idea what this 'new blog of note' is about either...apart from the fact that the 'model' for it was carefully chosen to look like a young JACQUI CARROLL:

Win a set of Sigma make-up brushes!
A few weeks ago, a couple of my fave Brit bloggers posted about these brushes and I thought, hells, I would like me a set of those. For years, I have been using a crazy old brush (a relic from the 80's no doubt) that I rescued from my mom's make-up chuck out my mom gave to me. I always examine the brush sets at Clicks and Woolies but I can never bring myself to fork out the loot for them. So you can imagine my excitement when the Sigma gals emailed me and offered me a set to review and a set to giveaway. I usually decline blog SWAG but I had to snap these babies up. First impressions? LOVE the big old powder brush. And the angled blusher brush is dead nifty. Been loving getting my smokey eyes on with all the eye shaders. Pre-Sigma, I'd simultaneously give myself a smokey hand. Heh. The eyeliner brush is also really handy for smudging a kohl line. Finding the foundation brush a bit of a mish to use. After two days, I went back to sponges 'cuz I find they make for a quicker application that goes on more evenly. Oh, and the brushes also came in a swish case. Bonus! But let's talk giveaways, eh? Sigma have one of these brush sets to give away.
To enter: Leave a comment telling me your best make up tip
(So I, ahem, we all, can improve our slap.)
This giveaway is open worldwide. Anyone can enter!
The winner will be drawn a week from now. Best of luck!
Oh, and you can shop Sigma here.
I got the idea to store the brushes in my Starbucks mug from Emma. She's a cutie, that one.
(Taryn, if you're reading - cheers for my mug, I luuuurve it. A little piece of London!)

I'm kind of a walking ice-cream
Yes. Well. Bubble gum colours a-go-go! I saw this dress hanging on the rails at the SPCA a while ago but the waist was rather large so I never bought it. On Saturday, I decided, heck, it's only R15, I'll buy it anyway and hang it on the wall 'cuz I just love the colours so much. Anyway, I got home, tried it on for fun and discovered that if I fold it over and belt the life out of it, I can actually wear it! Almost all the dresses I've thrited are too big on the waist but this old H&M belt comes in really handy for such frocks. Also shot my first roll with the Diana Dreamer - praying the pics come out ok!
This little getup was featured on the Mr Price blog today - cheers Mr P!

Courtney on vinyl
Long time readers will know that I am a huge Courtney Love fan. I know she's lost the plot a bit with the plastic surgery of late (Why Cortels, why? You always looked amazo in my eyes) but I still think she's fab. I always despair when people chuck her in the 'worst-dressed lists,' because Court is above all those ridic lists in my opinion! She coined a style all of her own that wasn't the least bit manufactured. Unlike a certain Taylor Momsen! But anyway...a few years ago, I was having a rummage around a record stand in Camden Market, when I came across this bubble gum pink vinyl of Courtney's single, 'Mono.' I would never have found something like this in Durbs, so I was over the moon when I spotted it. It's been sitting in a box and I finally got around to framing it because I want to look at it everyday. Hope fellow Courtney fans will get a kick out of it too. x
