...and I used to say...because she had told me that she was born under CANCER...a CANCERIAN 'CRAB' as it were (and star signs were a big thing at DARTINGTON)...I used to laugh about her getting her pincers out...acting in a crab-like way...

So in effect, I was entirely misinterpreting what she was doing...

...and upon meeting her again in EXETER for the first time in some while after DARTINGTON...she was wearing a very oriental-looking, dark pink quilted silk top...sitting cross-legged upon her flat floor...and she began to laugh and do that 'pacman eating' gesture with both hands, pointing upwards - on either side of her head...I remember the image...it was so Eastern...
