Ness Point
Ness Point is Great Britain's most easterly point, located in the town of Lowestoft in the Waveney District of Suffolk in England. The site is located off Gas Works Road, and has a direction marker known as Euroscope, marking locations in other countries, and how far away they are from Ness Point.
[edit] Attractions of Ness PointSurrounding Ness Point are several attractions: the OrbisEnergy Centre was completed in 2008 and was opened by Lord Hunt, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change at an official ceremony which was also attended by MP Bob Blizzard. This building has seen interest from several renewable energy companies. Also located at Ness Point is Britain's tallest wind turbine, which is nicknamed "Gulliver". It stands 180 meters tall, generating energy for the National Grid. The area surrounding Ness Point is landscaped, with a few free car parking spaces.
Ness Point, Lowestoft[edit] RedevelopmentAs of 2008-2009 there have been discussions in Lowestoft and with BBC Radio Suffolk's listeners on what should be done with the site; however, nothing has yet been finalised with Waveney District Council.
