....that THE WAKE novel by paul kingsnorth....I remember marr...telling me that it had actually been written by jonathan ross...after he had taken a long transcript...of 'little colin's confessions'...relating to being in the eldest taschmann's 'fen-man gang'....
anyway, the style-of-language is described upon the back as follows:
"Written in what the author calls 'a shadow tongue' - a version of Old English updated so as to be understandable for the modern reader"....
marr was to refer me to two pages within the book...in particular...number 301 and number 304....
let me see...yes the word 'sucker'...as spelt by a very young child...isn't necessarily taken from 'Old English' but I could be wrong...
and let me see...page 304....well this looks interesting, I suppose...who was 'grimcell' for example? well, that is for BI to work out...because I do not think that I will get any further with this novel, I can tell you....it makes me laugh too much...as I read the lines out loud in order to make sense of them...because it's all a bit 'nigel molesworthy' isn't it?
