well first up...I do not want to go higher up than 'windows 7' - see previous notes upon how dreadful that 'consumer apps' laptop was - bought from ARGOS....and secondly, if the promise of a free version of windows 10 were for real...why not just make the disks available? the very idea that you have to download such a large package...suggests that it will cost you an arm and a leg...if you manage to download it at all - which is 'iffy' isn't it? and if you don't manage to download it...well, it might destroy 'what you already have' upon your laptop....deleting files and adding them 'as it went'...
