Sue just rang up...to say that they had midday free and that they might like to come and have a walk on the beach in clacton...and then find a cafe to get something to eat...
i was uncertain about that one...firstly nothing is open....she appeared to have forgotten that.....nothing is open in clacton on BOXING DAY and i didn't like to say it but i don't have much food in the house....i couldn't exactly rustle up a family meal, for them all - which was embarrassing for me....so i figured 'tell her i have the noro virus'...which worked...but that i would love to see them later on, in the new year....normally i like seeing them as a family...but after having found out what ed and helen had planned...well i am a bit uncertain about 'seeing ed' nowadays - if you know what i mean...
anyway, sue then put ed on the phone and he told me about what had been going on...apparently my parents had put the turkey in at 9am but it wasn't cooked by 1pm...edna kept on complaining 'where's my dinner' and apparently there was no 'beef carbonade' on offer....edna had to eat turkey...ed kept repeating that one, for some reason....as if she didn't like it? who knows....
oh and on top of that....helen had driven her family up from london but the 'satnav' wasn't working as it should do...and instead of ending up at the weale's cottage in suffolk...she had ended up in colchester and was therefore rather late, on xmas eve....
boxing day...little james is happy watching a recording of the latest dr who special with 'deadly snowmen'....and so perhaps it would be better for them to stay put...i reckon little james is happy just watching tv....as most kids are....but perhaps...well who knows...it is all a little odd...my parents didn't seem to be around...perhaps they are still in bed at just past 10.15 in the morning...highly likely, i would guess...because normally it is mum who rings me at xmas....and she didn't even come to the phone....
so perhaps sue and ed had wanted to 'get away' for a bit....i do not know....i get on well with their family....but this xmas/boxing day...i have decided to give the whole family 'a wide berth' to see how things progress, in the future....and you can see why...after what i have had to find out/put up with...in the run-up to xmas....
anyway, i had a chat with ed about printers...he doesn't have one either...he uses the one at work...he knew how expensive inks were....and the whole rip-off relating to cheap printers/expensive inks....
OTHER NOTES:
let me think hard...this is about something else, isn't it?
yesterday i cycled around clacton in the morning...the whole place was like a ghost-town apart from a gang of small children on their bikes, in the centre and a few other cyclists around and about....no cars at all, really....
anyway, i cycled up PIER AVENUE to have a look at the offices above the shops....the only lights on, were above the GAME SHOP and BOOTS....i flashbacked to knowing that it was the 'light in the office' above BOOTS which was worth investigating....
and today....i was to tell ed that i had wanted a printer for xmas (my mother had asked me what i wanted) but now i had changed my mind...what i wanted was BOOTS....
which was silly really - considering i have just bought myself a pair...a very decent pair but i was stuck for something to say....
ED was angling for a location...i am sure of that one....but why? was tomlinson's crew supposed to be above BOOTS?
and i have just had a flash of them being told to turn up there 'as a family'....so putting them off a trip to clacton today...was probably the best thing to do....
