How come ED's postcode isn't recognised?

My mother gave me his address on the phone - she told me that it was 71 BELMOUNT HILL, BLACKHEATH SE13 5AX

Now I can remember finding out that she wouldn't be able to give me clear directions because of MARK R's mind control 'memory modification' - so I told her 'if you can just remember the postcode, that'll do' and so she appears to have managed to do that one, although as you can see - she spelt out BELMONT HILL wrongly, upon the phone.

So I looked up a B&B called BAILEYS which is apparently at 77 BELMONT HILL...that would be three doors down from 71...and YELL.COM gave me a location but no directions to it BECAUSE THE POSTCODE ISN'T RECOGNISED...now why would that be?
