anyway, this whole 'core maths' thing....despite having poked fun at the system, in a previous post....i had found out how to do that, at around age 8....it wasn't taught in school, at the time....anyway, as far as i am concerned - it is an easy way to do long sums 'in your head', without having to resort to writing it down....which is presumably what they are now teaching kids to do etc etc....and yes, it had been obama who had shown a 'key' interest, in all of that....in the CIA lab, so many decades ago, now....anyway, having been taught the technique - obama then went off to practice because of course, it is difficult at first...but after a while it becomes easy...he then added it to the prospective syllabus etc etc before becoming president, that is....go figure:
