yesterday I was to remember why 'col' had remembered so much about the british railway system...and was so 'helpful' - well most of the time...to portillo's crew....

it was because he and jade laing...along with gill...were to do similar journeys across Britain and using the same guide, as far as I am aware...their mission? to think up new programming locations and 'programming'....gill was to get so pissed off with laing...you normally tend to find out whether you really get on with a person or not, whilst travelling with them...he was to say that she was as annoying as she was boring...to which she retorted that you couldn't be both at the same time...he was to reply that she had proved it....by her behaviour...anyway, they were all away for three weeks...I can remember asking if I could go too - to be told "no"...
