I have decided to send CHP an email about my concerns....along the lines of:
Dear CHP,
i would like to draw your attention to the only exit/entrance to belle court flats 1-12, ellis road, clacton on sea, CO15 1FH.
At present we have a 'secure front door' operated by fob keys (exterior) and a green 'touch button' (interior) - my only worry is this, that the front door might malfunction during a fire - and lock all of the residents inside of belle court - because there is no fire escape route and the communal windows by the stairs, are blocked by the 'wooden slats' upon the front of the building.
Additionally, even the first floor windows of belle court, are approximately 10 meters from groundlevel - which means that in the case of a fire and for example, if the local fire service were unable to attend to the emergency, immediately - residents might attempt to jump from first floor flat windows - which might result in injury and/or death.
Therefore i would like to know if the above 'situation' at belle court - conforms to UK 'health and safety' rules and regulations - because CHP might be liable if there is a fire - and any deaths or injuries that occur, as a consequence.
I would also like to report that somebody has damaged the DRY RISER OUTLET upon the firstfloor of belle court.
Please see attached photos of belle court frontdoor, green button mechanism and those wooden slats in front of the communal windows, by the stairs - along with damage to the 'dry riser outlet'.
kind regards
emily gyde, flat 2, belle court, ellis road, clacton on sea, CO15 1FH.
