well here is the inside of the brochure....one would need to actually read it through carefully before 'signing on the dotted line' - wouldn't one? which i had not been allowed to do in the shop....and at first...i had been told that i wasn't allowed to take away a brochure either...
the idea of a barcoded ID worried me slightly....and also the idea of being a DONOR....you see the ill are all about 'human organs' if you know what i mean - 'donated' or not....
anyway, as far as i could gather from the till assistant....i could not only return the DVDS that i had bought from the shop....for example 6 dvds at £2 a go....which would give the shop back £3...'we can claim 25p for every £1 you give to the charity under the government's gift aid scheme'....
the till assistant was to tell me that anything i could donate - whether it had been bought at the shop or not...could be returned and they could claim back - under the same regulations....
i found that difficult to believe...how does one put a price upon secondhand goods...a bag of clothes for example - how would one price it all up?....but anyway, if that was the case...then surely the scheme was a 'good thing'?
so all in all...the whole 'giftaid scheme' plus the illustration upon the front...was rather worrying....
even the £25 and £31 illustration upon the front 'doesn't add up' - does it?
you give £25 to the charity shop in question and they make £6 via the giftaid scheme....
well the maths is wrong - isn't it?
25 x 25 = 625
the correct sum would amount to £6.25 back....so the righthand bag should be labelled with £31.25
so you tell me what is going on...a very 'muddled' scheme indeed....
additionally...'terms and conditions'.....TAC....'tak' means 'yes' in polish but there is also a taschmann reference here, i am sure of it...and the ill cult rhyming jingle 'tic tac toe'...
