the UK branch of OPUS DEI were to fill in an online form carefully....yes it is that easy if you are a member of the catholic church and particularly of opus dei...to get information from 'catholic resources' online - and in paris....

anyway, their curious request - elicited the attention of a member of french intelligence within that 'catholic research' department...

their request for information had run along the lines of 'could you please tell me the names of catholic priests murdered during the following period'....

and then they had ticked the PHD box - and typed in 'ongoing research project'...to then send the request off...

"public spirited gentleman" replies the opus dei network online.

oh i remember now...he had been particularly interested because a member of his family had been amongst those interviewed after the tavern brawl and he didn't really want anybody digging up the matter again...

the uk branch of opus dei didn't know that 'at the time'...but were to reassure him that they were looking for 'gunshot wounds' and not a blow to the head...which was to interest him, even more - in the final analysis...
