you see most people tend to open a door carefully if they think that somebody is lying in wait...they then check out the whole room...begin to walk into it and then have a look in the bathroom etc etc....what they do not tend to do...as russian intelligence well knows....is to look UP around and above the doorframe....

anyway, it wasn't possible to balance above the threshold of the cage room door...as it had been in that bedroom....you see, you entered the bedroom by a small 'hallway with a surface and plug sockets for your kettle, to the right and the bathroom door to your left'...the rooms had high ceilings....he had wedged himself above that small hallway....and once you had walked the couple of yards down it, to peer into the bedroom - he dropped down behind you....

anyway, miliband had got up to the grey pipe to see if it would hold a man's weight...it wouldn't do...once up there, he had scribbled something like DTI/DTO on that board - with a pencil - it is barely visible upon the photo, unfortunately....it was meant as a 'similar threat' although i am unclear as to why...perhaps the old government dept DTI....and a reference to the british council dto system?
