specsavers and GOK on the frontcover.....a pile of those brochures had been left in belle court foyer, the other say....

OTHER NOTES:

anyway, 'sad cat' was preying upon my mind, this morning....those who had been relegated to a 'life of misery'....'everything stolen from them'....martin gill included....see previous notes....

i was to remember the original pitch for GOK's first fashion series...the feelgood factor...and the general idea of "don't have surgery until you've sorted out your self-esteem...that's the first stage, after that....you can do what you want..."

....the first stage being? well, choose colours and styles that really suit you, 'be happy within yourself' wearing stuff, that really suits you...and funnily enough - a lot of people 'need help' upon that one...but then, not everybody is born stylist...anyway, when they have sorted out their 'self-esteem' and in relation to 'that one' - who is dragging them down 'upon that number' around them...they tend not to want to resort to radical surgery etc etc...

OTHER NOTES:

next up GOK 'in interview' at a ROSS company or subsidiary (i forget now)...well he was to confess that he had been considering plastic surgery 'on his eyes' before becoming a tv presenter...well, that wasn't any good - was it? his 'eastern appearance' was his 'unique point'...it was what would launch his career....

...which kind of fits in with the whole 'gist' of his show...the first series...as far as i can recall....and that is, along the lines of 'sort out your self-esteem'...i.e. the first stage is 'choosing stuff that really suits you - and see what a difference it makes to your life...'

...was i looking through your eyes, gill? or was i being used as a slave by one of ross' company at that point in time? at any rate...i can remember the interview with gok, quite clearly....the interviewer had been flown in from NY at a second's notice...no 'notes' had been sent...the interviewer had no idea of what to expect...but it was expected of the interviewer, to think up a pitch that would sell...in order to introduce GOK to the british viewing public - as a fashion show presenter...

I might add - that the interviewer was being 'spread too thin'....in that he only had a certain amount of time to 'do it all' in...before returning to the USA.

it must have been you, gill, mustn't it?...i can remember the conversation...which was 'to the point' and to the nth degree...as well as being 'more honest than most', in terms of telling gok 'how the land lay'...on both sides...for the interviewer as well as the interviewee....

anyway, gill and i were 'like that'....'twins' in our heads...and that is why i can remember it all so clearly...

"well i didn't think that you were wanting to present THE SKY AT NIGHT, looking like that - did i?"

....but upon reflection, gill...gok might consider pitching in for 'that one' as well - at this later date, within his career...i mean to say patrick moore was a 'real character' wasn't he?

....that is - if one wanted to revive that sort of BBC 'classic' ...one like THE SKY AT NIGHT and then contemporise it....gok might be your man, so to speak....

"look at brian cox" replies BI ONLINE...my point, exactly.

OTHER NOTES:

oh i remember now...after interviewing gok....i was to ask gill "was he a nice character?" to the answer "not really, too fucked up"....

'too fucked up' and given your keys, by the ill - as far as i can remember, gill....'not good'....was he really a 'nice guy' or not? your keys...not mine.

the 'silent tug' - gok had been programmed as a 'silent tug'....by gok - courtesy of ROSS:

OTHER NOTES:

an NPOWER leaflet and letter - was to come through my door today....it was all about how a customer can save on fuel bills....

the NPOWER logo colours...are the same as the piggy bank and money being put into it....meaning? go figure....

NPOWER are NOT interested in anybody saving money....they are interested in making you feel like you are saving money - in order to justify their prices.....

it is 'modern psychology' and what george orwell might have meant by 'double-think' but 'double-think-squared' as hulbrusch was to put it....

...for the record....alexis chapman had loved the ruse about 'turning on a kettle' (minimal energy use)....and i might add that NPOWER are lying about 'what it costs to do so'.....anyway, chapman was to state to certain 'whitehall men'....."you mean you can worry and belittle them into the ground - by making them count the number of times that they can turn a kettle on? wonderful!"....

let me see....let us backtrack a little 'if you were to use all of the 'techniques' in NPOWER's new brochure....and are then hit by 'the same bill as you got the last time'...you are likely to be 'weary of it all' and pay it without questioning....along the lines of:

"at least it isn't more than the last one - however much we tried to 'save a bit'....who is guilty of using a hairdryer, on the quiet then?" turning to the family, in question etc etc....

the 'double-squared thinking' system is along the lines of the 'green/ecological theme'.... and how does that work?

....in order to 'save energy' ....you pay NPOWER more money for using less fuel.....this money is then used by NPOWER for 'other means' ("investment" replies MI5 ONLINE) to make even more money....."and it all ends up in fat cats' pockets.

...let me see...so in a nutshell....NPOWER is sending out letters to tell you how to 'save money by using less fuel'....and then sending out the next bill 'which is just the same as the last one that you had'....

secondly they are courting the whole 'green movement'....'saving fuel = saving the planet'....

so you 'save fuel'...even though, you get to pay the same, if not more - to NPOWER.....and you feel 'good' about yourself for doing so - in relation to 'green issues'...

..."but not really" replies BI ONLINE..."at some level, we all know that we are being conned".

OTHER NOTES:
it's a bit like 'SMOKING CAN KILL' on the back of cigarette packets...a government health warning...in relation to a particular company sending out brochures, telling you how to cut down upon how much you are buying from them...it is just too weird, the whole thing...what if other companies were to do that?

...for example, M&S charge card could start sending out brochures in relation to "overdrawn at the bank? spending too much on our charge card, every month? - here are some ways in which you can cut down..."
