anyway, remember rimington laughing "that was us - i'm afraid!" in a mock-embarrassed sort of way, regarding my question about etc etc - whilst i was at dartington...hmmm...which would mean what, precisely....remember she had been a kgb agent, helped up the system by those higher up within it, to then become the director general etc etc...oh and then we have an aside to the police siding with the establishment 'whatever-the-weather' in 'a very english scandal' etc etc....go figure:

anyway, i think that given the ending of the tv series....those behind it had taken great care to be fair to both sides of a love affair gone 'poisonous' - due to the terrible context from which it had emerged.....hmmm....reminds me of lady diana's 'bunnies'....tomlinson, roz etc etc....e.g. those who had dared to love....those who had a soul etc etc...."a courageous act"...and so to keep on affirming the love which had triumphed over soulless etc etc for a certain amount of time, regarding that toxic and punitive environment - was important...i.e. what makes us really 'human' etc etc....oh and the irony of it all, is that hugh grant's character describes norman as a 'judas' at one point....hmmm....shades of that old soviet program running?...."sacrificial lamb" and the inference being etc etc - see below....go figure:
and so one might go so far as to conjecture that the structuring absence was in fact that soviet program running (e.g. blunt and his apostles), alongside what the mod/medical profession had been up to - regarding how to create a total mind control slave - allowed to take public office and stand at the mic, so to speak etc etc...well, that covers both sides at any rate, doesn't it really....as it goes, eh?
