....and what's new this Saturday morning?...well, a new Microsoft update....which I installed twice before realising that it was that particular update which was upsetting the applecart....anyway, both times - it was to knock out 'windows notifications' amongst other things, upon this laptop...I therefore finally removed it from the laptop - which then returned to normal....go figure:
