OTHER NOTES:

...and this evening, i was to go back to warwick university 1996-7 - in my head....to remember the following:

quasi-collie had decided to recruit me...i had made my feelings well-known about the whole thing - see previous notes upon that discussion with eliza manningham-buller on campus...there appeared to be a division which ran straight through BI (british intelligence) along with royal services etc...and that was because of a fierce row between prince charles and prince philip - regarding the succession to the throne....and i didn't want to be run by intelligence - i didn't want to be involved at all in any of it...and by that point in time - i appeared to have some leverage, in order to get out of the whole murky business...whilst liaising with the police detectives, i might add...who were to find that heroin bag, in a room down that corridor - the same floor as bassnett's centre...along with what they were to call the 'secret government' offices....used by - well i suppose we can say 'norwegian intelligence' rather than 'green tower', nowadays? who knows? i am still unclear about the whole thing...anyway, this is what i was to remember....

heather laing, quasi-collie and i...were in the kitchen of my shared flat in claycroft II....heather was telling me about a new film lecturer in her department - that she had just met....apparently he was gorgeous and they were now dating - and no, i wasn't allowed to meet him....naturally norman's network were immediately interested...anyway, guess who? i could 'see' in my mind's eye who he was...'col the sol'.

heather was to tell us that he lectured in a subject ...which was something around russian/soviet film (with a whole load of academic terms qualifying that number) but didn't take classes...which means that nobody questioned his knowledge upon the subject and as i was to then find out, by scanning - the lectures had all been pre-written - he simply had to read them out....i could 'see' him in a classroom doing 'just that'...and so i then said slowly and deliberately...something along the lines of "...and your chosen subject is....sticky labels coming off tape reels....'68 to '73....jan '73...soviet film...and your time starts now"

heather replied "that's NOT funny" - annoyed at my pisstake of mastermind...

....to which i replied that it never is...particularly the details...i then added that he was more interested in 'revisionism'...if you get my meaning etc etc....which quasi-collie did, in a flash...

....you see i had just flashbacked to 1994....to the projectionist's room/cinema, at the university of silesia, katowice...'col the sol' had taken hulbrusch and i, back there...into the projectionist room...see previous notes upon hulbrusch taking me to the weekly 'soviet film' event....to see films that had been made, mainly in poland - during the soviet era....

anyway, mr putin was also in that projectionist's room...'col the sol' was kneeling down by several piles of tape reels...he pointed to a shorter pile than the others..."they're audio" he said...all of the tapes looked as if they were either audio or 8mm/16mm film...rather old...with yellowing sticky labels coming off of some of them...he then began to search through a tall film reel pile, on the floor...

hulbrusch was alarmed...he was to say 'words to the effect of' (because they were all talking in russian, in the main)..."you're not going to destroy them, are you?" to which the answer was something like "nothing is ever lost at KGB headquarters..."

...and after remembering the above....i was to immediately think 'you'd never find them again if you'd put them into MI5's archives' see previous notes upon what rimington was to get up to, there....

what else? well that was all i was to remember of the above...but in that claycroft II kitchen...i had given quasi-collie the tip-off that all was not well, with that new film studies lecturer at warwick university...

she was then to ask me what i thought that they were after...i replied that i had no idea but my hunch was 'revisionism'...the rewriting or suppression of historical evidence....

anyway, after that one...i was then told by the film studies department that i could no longer borrow films from their library...because a new regulation had come into force...only film students could borrow films from there....now i needed to borrow those derek jarman films in order to do my dissertation...and so quasi-collie was to take me off to the post-graduate office...to get me a film studies library pass as a 'visiting lecturer'...in short, she was to contact a couple of friends at a university up north...who then put me 'on their lecturer list' and would vouch for me if warwick films studies department rang up....quite easy to do, really - i suppose...see previous notes upon all of those lecturers down that corridor upon the same floor as bassnett's centre...most students had no idea of what they looked like...because they all appeared to be 'on sabbatical' and at the same time...their names and subjects were upon their doors...however, that was all that was known about them, by the student body...

...anyway, i was then to go back to that film studies library, with my pass...to ask for some films that quasi-collie and bassnett wanted to have a look at...the woman at the desk kept on repeating and somewhat robotically "you are not allowed - you are not a film student...you are not allowed....you are not allowed" as she obediently went off to find the films...returned with them...and then gave them to me over the counter...i didn't bother to reply - the 'pass' did all the talking that was necessary...isn't that weird?

...what else? i was to watch those films with quasi-collie and bassnett...historical evidence of atrocities...the sort of thing that makes you trance out in horror....after viewing the films...i can remember reminding quasi-collie that putting them into MI5 archives would probably be a mistake...to which she replied that it couldn't be helped (she was working for MI6 at the time but they didn't have the same facilities, apparently)...all she could do was to assign them a code rather than a name...you see a title would make it easier for the 'revisionists' to find those tapes....i can remember the code for one of them...it began with an A....something around A02953....i can remember those numbers but in what order....i cannot remember now....and there were more numbers than that...
