7.39am....and let me fill you upon what was to happen this morning....
at just after 7am...the smoke alarm in this flat - started to bleep every 30 seconds or so....and so i had a look at it...the light was flashing 'red' intermitently and so i figured....that the battery had run down...whilst smelling a rat, let us say...how fishy - that today of all days...and so early, this saturday morning...that the battery should run low...see previous notes upon my intercom going off so many times, in the early hours of the morning etc etc...
anyway, i then had a look for the smoke alarm manual...and found it...a generic leaflet and not for exactly the right model of smoke alarm but anyway...see previous notes upon a CHP electrician replacing both the smoke and heat alarms in this flat....and leaving those two new leaflets....
what else? well, having timed the 'bleeps'....the last time that the smoke alarm bleeped was at 7.39am...it has just bleeped again at 7.44am....so it is now bleeping every 5 minutes....the manual/leaflet says that it normally beeps once a minute if there is a problem....
what else? well i read through the instructions...turned off all of the power in this flat...to then detach the casing...to then find out that it was impossible to pull the powerplug out of the back of the smoke alarm....and so what could i do?
best to ring CHP, i thought...see what they think...it is the responsibility of the tenant/resident to change the batteries...but in this case...seeing as i cannot pull the powerplug out...and that is blocking the door to the battery - well what can i do? besides - the manual is a generic one and doesn't give you any details as to how you can detach that 'powerplug'....
i then rang CHP at 7.29am...on 0300 555 0500....to eventually be put through the 'helen'...who was to ask the following question:
"is it a hard circuit?"
...as if that meant anything to me at all.....i didn't train to be an electrician and i don't suppose that 'helen' did either - which makes it all the more 'curious' eh?
You see 'helen' is a customer service representative at CHP...go figure.
anyway....i replied that the smoke alarm was powered by battery but also connected to the mains....and that having switched off all power in this flat...the device was continuing to bleep....
come to think of it now...that unknown 'caller' in the early hours of the morning...whoeveritwas...had rung my intercom....and the first time - well, it had been a long beep (the usual, as far as that intercom sounds)...whoeveritwas then rang my flat's intercom several times, later on...but only very short 'bleeps'...as if they had accidentally hit it but not managed to quite depress the button...go figure.
anyway, 'helen' was to tell me that she would send a CHP electrician the details, immediately...as an emergency call....she was to add that the electrician might call today...but then again he might not....i would have to wait in all day 'on the off chance' that he might call...but he might not...she couldn't give me anymore details than that...only that he was definitely a CHP electrician and not an AARON SERVICES LTD one....go figure.
anyway, i then turned back on the power, in this flat...in order to type this up...and put it onto my blog...
...what was to annoy me the most...was that i couldn't get those wires back into the inside of the smoke alarm...in order to put the casing back onto it...a tricky job and i've done it before but i cannot be arsed, this morning - because i am aware that somebody is really pissing around here (no coincidence that this was all to happen early this morning)....and so anyway, the whole thing is now dangling from the ceiling....see photos.
...do you now see why i smell a rat and a big one?...and that is why i was to take a few photos....switch back on the power....and type the whole lot up....
...because when i 'out' shit like this upon my blog...it normally stops the ill in their tracks - whatever they're up to...go figure.
...whatever the ill are up to, today...it will probably include 'helen'....and that is why i have logged that call to CHP -at 7.29am....
it is now 08.10am and that smoke alarm hasn't bleeped again (since 7.39am)....do you see what i mean?...as if there wasn't anything wrong with it - at all....except that the light is still intermitently flashing 'red'.
...if the electrician doesn't arrive within the next hour or so...i will ring up and cancel the job...because i suspect that the ill simply want an excuse to call round...any time of the day or night...that they feel like doing....i wasn't even given the name of the electrician concerned...go figure.
...this is all 'harrassment'...as far as i am concerned....i will NOT be messed around in this way...and those evil pigs are trying to do 'just that'.
at number 1 - see below....you have the power plug....and at number 2, the door to the battery - you cannot get at the battery without pulling out that plug...which will not budge...go figure:
this is the manual/leaflet that I was given....and let me just say this...there is no HUSH BUTTON upon the model that was installed in this flat...go figure as to 'why' that might be?
