let us go back to the 60s.....little colin was terrified of her....on the drive of molly richardson' house...'mrs tiddles' had struck terror into his mind, every time - so much so, that upon the very sight of her - he would run to the door and ring the doorbell several times...as if he had just got past the temple dragon 'on guard'...

but she had been such a lovely cat...i used to tickle her under her chin....upon molly richardson's drive...the loveliest, gentlest cat - you could imagine (a bit 'rough' in terms of 'fur' i.e. a farm cat but so what?).....until molly - having been told not to drive off before looking under her car - because of 'mrs tiddles' - then ran 'mrs tiddles' over....

i can remember the scene, afterwards....molly was inconsolable, at her kitchen table, sobbing convulsively....."i loved her - even though she was only a cat"....i had loved her too, but little colin hadn't...and he had laughed - the moment, he got the news from michael richardson....however, in molly's kitchen...and having been told to 'shut up or else' along the lines of "mrs tiddles is dead - you don't understand - you are just a stupid little boy and so SHUT UP".....well little colin stopped laughing and began to bawl loudly....to the point where molly was to say "just get him out of here"....

roll on the years....gill looking back on it all....PKW/robert webb had originally made up the 'code' for gill...."because he's like a cat, isn't he?"...his nickname had become 'mrs tiddles'....

"so he (farrell) thinks that i'm mr tiddles does he?" with a threatening note to his voice etc etc....do you see how it goes?

what else? rimington had identified as 'mrs tiddles' at one point...before she got run over...naturally.
