anyway, I then had a look for 'clacton' on google maps...to come across the following...a veritable 'army' on the beach - because of the airshow, I suppose...go figure:

 

 

and when things come up as a 'clump'...I begin to wonder if they are in any way connected...let me see...a quick scan has revealed that McDonnell had wanted to use this location pic for 'something'...go figure:
