and what else, dazzlenation?...musing about the sun....and your concern-in-particular?

interesting...so they perceive  it is a huge body which is travelling fast...a bit like a locomotive across the sky....something that should make a 'big noise'...

my concern, within this particular geographical location....is that the sun is sometimes 'huge' in the sky during winter...and the light from it, is almost blinding....and so if it is more intense in luminosity and larger in size...then it should be giving out more heat but it doesn't...it is colder....isn't that a sort of paradox?...unless...let me think....

if one were to image the sun as a 'ball'...although nobody really knows what shape it might be, as a whole...because we only see the 2D image-in-the-sky...it could be conical, as far as anybody knows....and oddly enough - that might make more sense...in winter, we have the 'large disc'...the 'cold face' of the sun....and in summer we have the 'smaller disc'...the 'hot face' of the sun....a bit like using a magnifying glass upon paper, concentrating the sun's rays....however, that doesn't explain the hi-density luminosity of the 'cold face' - does it?...a google search has revealed that quite a few people think that the 'cold face' is larger because it is a bit like headlights-in-a-rainstorm i.e. the rain makes the image blurry and therefore larger...but that doesn't explain the higher density of the light coming through, does it?...go figure.
