she then proceeded to burst out laughing...it was infectious....he started to laugh and so did i....

well, i now 'get' the joke fully....

first up - mod evans used to say that 'every evening'....

next - the confusion between the surname HOME pronounced HUME and the noun 'home'

BBC RADIO 4 was originally called the 'home service' and everybody figured that this meant something to do with the governmental 'home office' but what if it didn't?

the BBC was primarily set up by the MOD and controlled by the military from the outset....

what if the 'home service' was all about HUME...i mean 'lord home'?

i then thought about my first encounter with MARK R in poland....1994....he couldn't say the word 'homey' enough.....along the lines of:

"i'm a homey sort of guy...i like to stay home most nights...i like homey things " etc etc....

HOE-ME?

so i scanned to find out that tomlinson had told her that if she wanted to work at radio 4....then she would have to have a 'home chip'....pronounced 'hume chip'....
