....and what else?...well, last night....two updates were to show up....I downloaded both....one of them then knocked out the 'notifications system' upon this laptop, again - see previous notes....and so I tried 'system restore' several times (seeing as it had worked the last time)...another odd thing - three updates were to show up as having been added to the list upon this laptop of 'recent updates' and not just 'two'....anyway, having turned the laptop on and off again for the third time...the 'notifications system' was back up and running - for no apparent reason....because the two original updates were showing as having been added to the list, on this laptop....and so system restore hadn't worked, at all...go figure.

....let me backtrack a little, here....because something else 'odd' was to happen....remember - this is gill's old laptop...the one that had been under holliday attack....he had found a way to get online without the laptop, registering that it is online.....which is why the internet icon button upon this laptop's keyboard, has always shown a red light and never a blue light....and yet, after the notification system came back 'on'...so did the 'blue light'....that function upon this keyboard is now finally working....I wonder why?...I then checked what satellite connections there might be...as they were all now showing....and that IXUS camera was to pick up 'something' around the fourth snip....go figure:

 

...additionally, I had turned on a fullscan - last night, after realising that something was 'up'...which took about 9 hours to complete, I might add....I was also to check up on the laptop, every time I got up to go to the loo etc etc....to then find the following....go figure:
