the top OXFORD/CAMBRIDGE universities didn't offer 'engineering/physics degrees' to the highest order.....the general 'understanding' of the 80s and 90s was that you didn't apply there if you were interested in 'physics and its practical application'...they had a tiny course running....a handful of people and 'all duds' according to nankeville....

OXBRIDGE only recruited 'duds' as physics/engineering students - who couldn't fit in anywhere else, into any other university.....

anybody who was anybody in 'mechanical sciences' went to MANCHESTER.....
