it is snowing a bit in clacton this morning...snowing but not settling...i felt sorry for the gulls outside....and so threw them a few pieces of bread....

to then remember pondering upon what my mother had told me as a child....on blackheath....you see now and then....you would see a large flock of seagulls on the heath and she would say that it was because of 'rough weather out at sea'....apparently seagulls flew inland when this was the case.....

i even saw a flock of them upon a cricket ground in oxford - whilst i was working as an EFL teacher there....and again i paused to wonder 'just how rough at sea it was'....because you cannot get more 'inland' than oxford - can you?

so is it true or a myth?
