oh and what about 'rang-it-at-a' CF?...I am assuming that you can remember watching daldry, Malcolm and myself fall about....as brian walked into that ambassadors party....but I suppose that is what you get if the CIA are involved in making up memory aids 'within a restricted time zone' let us say...."THE KING AND I?....yul brynner...phoaarrhh!" etc etc...and yes I am well aware that the film is now seen to be hideously racist and no doubt bryan with his 'education'...can quote bell, book and chapter...regarding every article upon the subject...and so what can I plead except that it was all in the course of duty....and when you are channelling 'like crazy' and have to think up something that will make the others laugh...in order to get them to remember the whole thing etc etc.....oh and I can add a little bit more to the whole subject....4U classroom...brian had been adopted by joy rich and Andrew constable (the headboy and headgirl of the school) and so he was to become rather popular, with the whole class if not the school....bryan was to begin to see the English as a 'walkover' compared to the Italians at the American paris school....and yes we had all watched THE KING AND I on british weekend TV that summer - for brian to then walk into school on Monday and bellow "I AM THE KING!"...and so all went well, for brian...until craig's gang (caroline stokes' ally) were to 'jump' him and torture him into submission - see previous notes upon 'pretty in pink' etc etc...oh and craig was also to rape Debbie McDonough, that year - to then apologise, years later on....and all because she had refused to be his dance partner - preferring paul banks (who later on came out as gay to then become a Jesuit priest in south America)...and now do you see why Debbie was sent in to 'manage' brian's visit to the UK..."he's a lovely man" etc etc...just a few snippets of 70s history....go figure.
