and i would guess that the book used - had been this one....THE VOYAGES OF DOCTOR DOOLITTLE....
the illustrations were a lot more modern than wiki's photo of the 'original' but perhaps the original is more 'fitting' in a way...because we were taken on a 'horrorshow' of 'esoteric evil'....and all around the world....far more 'aleister crowley' than 'dr doolittle' and the original book design rather 'covers' that one - doesn't it?
oh i remember now...eliza getting annoyed with scarlett after he had told her that the original was unavailable at the time...somebody else was using it, apparently....
and her sitting with a 70s style illustration book....saying "it just won't do".....
