.....and what's new this friday evening, dazzlenation?...well, oscar had once framed a cutting from a daily shanghai newspaper....of me with a kite and a couple of jiao tong university students helping to untie a bit of a tangle....lol...we had made the news because firstly i was the only foreigner there....no idea why the american teachers or shana for that matter, had ignored the invitation but i had thought it might be 'fun' and it was....israeli 'nir' had told me about it....anyway, having arrived at the spot - a large field on campus....i was given a kite and then told i would be timed on how fast i got it up....there were loads of kites already being flown, all over the field....it appeared to be a sort of competition....no idea how well i did but my kite was soon up there with the rest...i let out the entire reel....and it flew so high...to then get entangled with some other kites....and that is when the press photographer came over to take a snap, which duly then appeared in the back pages of that newspaper.....lol....i was given the kite to take home with me....i still had it in manningtree/harwich...rodway then stole it off of me, in clacton...as was her wont...she had already stolen so much etc etc....the kite metaphor appears to be quite a big one......anyway, putin's lot had figured that i was really in trouble - remember, they had turned up for an international conference during that SARS nightmare, staying at the academic centre of jiao tong...where i also had a room, along with two american teachers etc etc....they were to warn me that an assassination attempt would follow...i was duly invited to that 'holocaust day' number and you know what rabbi greenberg had been planning to do along with nir's sephardic mother...they had even had a local chinese butchers' lined up that would accept 'pork' from anywhere - regarding the remains etc etc...disgusting, isn't it etc etc....needless to say, i ignored that invite...the russians then told me that it would be best to leave china because the israelis would try again......and so all i can say to 'that one' is....hell, mcdonald - a bit like flying upside down over china in an experimental israeli 'jet' - whilst being intercepted by chinese fighter jets?...see previous notes upon 'all of that'...lol....anyway, the whole thing - no matter how appalling is 'funny' to me now - a bit of a 'laughing buddha' number - how else would i have been able to survive without laughing at it all?...anyway, nota bene that the stone circle below...is a bit like the one in the field that used to be located beyond the buildings and summer houses etc etc of the forbidden city (although that land appears to have been sold off now)...it had been semi-enclosed by woods near to the back wall of the whole complex...the stone circle had been known as a remote-viewing circle....go figure:
