and what's new this friday morning - dazzlenation?...well, the obvious answer to that 'gardner' question - was 'hollyhock' but how many had got it right - regarding a certain question set, at the time....lol....something that even jacob rothschild had 'no idea' about....lol...oh and grandma clayton had had quite a few, in her garden...gave me the seeds etc etc....however, shu-chen-chen had been right...it hadn't been a hollyhock 'native' to this country....oh and the 'foxgloves' nearby to that 'hollyhock', growing near to the kitchen wall of hill house combs...well, grandma had got rid of them..."digitalis" etc etc....anyway, all a bit 'alcea'?...who knows, eh?...more laughter....anyway, grandma hadn't known where that plant had come from because apparently there was something about it that didn't quite fit into the description of etc etc...a bit of a 'chinese hollyhock' then?....go figure.
