and what else, dazzlenation?...well, having had a look at quite a few of etc etc recently, in the news...my first association was of eastern Europe....and the toppling of soviet statues....and so we can say that this type of thing, is often done after a regime-change...after a revolution...except that there has been no revolution, in the UK....things are far more 'civilised' let us say....the focus is upon slavery and slave-drivers...the UK government has not been targeted and nor has its emblem - the british crown...however, it is a warning to the ill cult, everywhere...that slavery is no longer tolerated and by the vast majority....go figure:
Following campaigns and protests the Belgian city of Ghent is to remove this statue of King Leopold II, under whose reign as many as 10 million people were murdered in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In Italy there are calls to remove a statue of Indro Montanelli, pictured on Sunday having been daubed in red paint and tagged with the words "racist, rapist". The journalist admitted buying and marrying a 12-year-old Eritrean girl in the 1930s during army service under Fascist leader Benito Mussolini.
