...and so what was in that parcel, you might ask?...a book of puzzles and a somewhat heavily soiled and worn, old dressing gown...now, what sort of message do you think 'that' was supposed to convey...i rang up my parents to find out...now, neither of them have problems with their eye-sight...they do not need glasses....and they both sounded entirely 'on the ball' and in their right minds....in fact, they both sounded rather jolly and up tempo...apparently somebody across the road...called 'eugenia'....had asked them over for a 'champagne shower' the evening before...and my father had drunk quite a bit....what else?...my mother reiterated what she had said in the card...that i could give the dressing gown to 'charity' if i didn't want it - no mention was made as to why it was so heavily soiled or who had worn it last and to be honest, I didn't want to know and so I didn't bother to ask...oh and apparently ed, susan and their son would be passing by, on their way to susan's sister, in redditch....but apart from that...no mention was made of any other members of the family...and that was 'it' really....anyway, i came off of the phone, laughing - what else could i do - seeing as it was quite clear that the pair of them were up to 'something' but what? i then binned the dressing gown....go figure.
