rio....I remember now...nick wadham-smith buying me and 'fani' the greek MA student, a drink in the bar (he was to have a whiskey)...after he had given a talk at warwick university....quasi-collie was to thank me for 'looking after him' because apparently she and bassnett hadn't been able to attend...go figure...rio....he was to talk about that 'out of the blue'...how he and his friends loved to attend the carnival...go figure...quasi-collie didn't appear to like him much...nor the british council at that point in time...apparently he shouldn't have described the recent changes within the british council as being something around 'turning it into a PLC' rather than continuing to act as a 'registered charity'...
