...oh and I had better mention another memory 'in passing'...one that had severely traumatised 'baby mcgowan'....as follows:

Michael Richardson's gang hadn't heard of microwaves, before and 'baby mcgowan' hadn't told them about his daddy's microwave in their kitchen....see previous notes upon the whole 'McGowan wants you to make him his tea' saga....anyway, having told them about it...they were all to go round to the McGowan's house....PKW/Robert webb was to say 'why bother taking the beans out of the can and putting them into a bowl'....and the predictable then, happened....ever-resourceful, the boys then called the fire brigade....as the 'thunder and lightning' continued (see previous notes upon rimington/roz/Tomlinson programming with the terrible noise that a microwave makes, when something 'metal' is put inside of it)....I can remember the boys pushing me forward as a fireman asked 'what button do you press'...to turn it off...and no, he hadn't seen one, before...either....I can remember being too terrified to approach....as the fireman pointed to the controls....to then stammer "go down - to your right...that's it"...

...one of the firemen was to say, afterwards..."if I were your father, I would put you over my knee...." he was then to tell McGowan that he would wait with him, in the house, until his father got home....and yes, predictably, McGowan got a walloping 'over the knee' for 'that one' when his father got home....go figure.
