....and what was to happen this thursday morning, dazzlenation?....well, after having left belle court - early on, for my usual walk....dona had been waiting for me, outside of magnet house....odd, eh?....well, if you didn't know - it was...anyway, she was to tell me....after i had shown her my shoulder injury....and it is now much redder around the 'white lumpy area' than it had been upon the photo that i had posted, i might add.....anyway, dona was to say that the urgent treatment centre would only suggest icecubes or a frozen bag of peas, on it...to cool the 'bruise' down....but it's not just a 'bruise' is it?...it is inflammation....anyway, having visited the urgent treatment centre - this morning....to be seen by a nurse called 'emily' - who very much reminded me of a young alexis chapman, in looks and appearance....but unlike, alexis....she had been entirely helpful....so much so....that as she was to say...she was going against the system and protocol, in her treatment of me (what could that mean?)...in short, that she would refer me to the x-ray department (can nurses, do that?)....i arrived there, shortly afterwards...a bit of a 'labyrinth' you understand - as most hospitals are, nowadays....and clacton hospital - newly renovated to include far more departments - is no different.....in short, i walked past where the old 'peter bruff' ward had been, in that building.....along with the 'social worker' offices...along with the dementia wards etc etc....all stripped and repainted....everything 'new' and empty.....to arrive at the x-ray department....oscar had already told me about how impressed he had been about the MRI scans, at clacton hospital....for them to tell me that i was the very first patient in their new department....did they mean that the x-ray room was brand new or that i was simply the first patient in, that day etc etc....my life has always been a bit 'strange' but anyway - let's put that to one side, for the time being.....in short, they were to take an x-ray of my front and back...i then returned to 'emily-the-nurse', in the urgent treatment centre...who, after having looked at the x-rays...only showed me one of them......and asked me to take a picture upon my mobile phone....even stranger, in a way....she had no print-out service....but there again, it is a 'new system' apparently and none of the staff are 'au fait' with it.....additionally, even stranger - she had invited a 'trainee GP' to attend her treatment of me...and yes, she had introduced the woman behind her as 'just that'....a woman who simply stood at a distance, behind her and smiled....but in a desperate sort of way.....as if to say....i understand, about your predicament but also something else.....'emily' was in control...a nurse, training up a GP....is that the 'new' system....well, nurses have a huge amount of knowledge - there's no doubt about it....but i was left with an uneasy feeling that 'all-was-not-right'....anyway, 'the-nurse-acting-like-a-doctor-who-can-order-an-X-ray-was-in-control' - she told me that she had forwarded a message to ranworth surgery....telling my GP that she advised an ultra-sound upon the muscle above my right shoulder bones...there was obviously something 'there' that needed ultra-sound to understand why i had that spreading white lump and inflammation....because she had seen something 'not right' there...the swelling, of the muscle involved, above the bone...why had that become infected and swollen...there appeared to nothing else wrong, within the area....and so i am most grateful to that nurse for having ensured that i had an x-ray to eliminate that possible 'bone splintering' number...and to have isolated what it is....which could be picked up by ultra-sound?....watch this space as to how my surgery reacts to a 'nurse's informed advice etc etc....anyway, having had a look upon google images....to compare a normal shoulder x-ray with my own - well, my clavicle and acromion appear to be joined....as if they were one bone instead of a joint...put simply - too close together.....which is where that 'lump' occurs - on top....go figure.
