…and what else, is ‘new’ this tuesday morning, dazzlenation?...well, remember that ‘green elms’ horrorshow-averted number….the receptionist at ranworth - the very same one, that i had seen previously….the one who had sidelined me into a ‘physio’ appointment at ‘green elms’....was on the desk….she was bullying, aggressive and rude in tone-of-voice, behaviour and manner….all of that - after i had politely asked her if a doctor had seen the letter from the urgent treatment centre - requesting a USS (ultra sound scan)...a letter that i had viewed online, previously - upon my NHS account....she was to tell me that i would see whoever i was told to....again, i tried to patiently explain to her that only a doctor could action the request...she appeared to be unable to understand...to then tell me that if a doctor wasn’t available then a clinician would see me instead - with the implication being, that - that would be the case….and then she said “was seen by the UTC yesterday” as she began to type….i replied that it had not been yesterday - i had said last week….she got annoyed and snapped back at me….”when was it then”...i replied that she might try reading her screen….”i want to hear it from you!” she snarled….clearly extremely annoyed….patronising and intimidating….i told her that i had anxiety and that her anger and aggression certainly wasn’t helping….i also reminded her that a clinician wasn’t necessarily a doctor (it is a broad term, most often used by those who aren’t medical doctors)....eventually, she backed down and told me that she would book me in to see a doctor today and that i could expect a text….hmmm…what’s the betting none of that will materialise?

….anyway, whilst walking back…i met dona….i told her about the above…describing the woman as a bit of a bulldog….lol….dona replied “oh her - she thinks that she runs the place”....dona then asked me to put my hand out....she put out her fist and dropped a miniature solid gold ‘bulldog’ into the palm of my hand…i kid you not…it was so funny….”she’s been quite useful” dona added….i replied that it would be useful if a doctor from that surgery simply texted me back with an appointment for USS at clacton hospital rather than go through the rigmarole of ‘being seen’ at the surgery…when i had already been seen by a GP, senior nurse and clinician at the urgent treatment centre...anyway, the newly acquired gold bulldog 'ornament' had apparently only cost dona £5….go figure.

...and a postscript to the above....past midday and no doctor's call....what's the betting etc etc?....and so my next manoeuvre will be to email the surgery.....asking in so many words - if a doctor can simply action the request without having to see me 'in person' - seeing as a senior nurse, accompanied by a clinician and GP had formerly done so at the urgent treatment centre and that should be enough - surely the referral for USS should only be a formality etc etc....oh and whilst i'm at it...i might 'praise in damning words' that receptionist....first up listening skills....no go - could try harder...lol.....next up comprehension skills...again....no go.....communication skills?....well, she could type - even though she hadn't listened and so was typing up what i had said incorrectly....and regarding social skills - obviously zero.....and so what training could i suggest to improve her work performance etc etc....i'll have to think about it....."sack her" replies BI online...lol...and that is probably the 'rub', isn't it....i don't suppose that being a medical secretary/receptionist is anybody's dream job, nowadays - as it had once been Deb Mcd's and her sister, before her....what with covid et al - one wonders if they can get the staff in, at all - nowadays....oh and upon the note of 'moore's influence upon the proceedings....i feel the urge to create a 'true american dog' poster about the whole affair....an advertisement for 'sissie'...remember - you don't even have to be able to read and write to get to be 'top dog'....laugh with the italians as you effortless drive around the ringroads of milan, again and for the umpteenth time because you can't etc etc....and so one can say in retrospect - that receptionist had all of the (un)coveted skills and talent necessary to be a sissie 'top dog' - plus she could also read and write....ergo, she's in the wrong job!...lol....as it goes, eh?
